An elegant marine town which is steeped in history and is just a few kilometres from the port of Piraeus. Here you can admire the neoclassical buildings along the waterfront, the Cathedral and the Kapodistrian buildings. You can stroll round the town’s streets which are full of shops and try the famous pistachios nuts grown on the island. Or you can visit the church of Aghios Nektarios, explore Paleochora, the "Mystras of Aegina", with its stone churches and enjoy fresh fish at Perdika which is reminiscent of a Cycladic village. And of course, you must visit the Temple of Aphaia, which took its present form around 450 BC.
