Mount Parnitha rises from the north side of the prefecture of Attica and extends to the border of Viotia. It has varied terrain which is characterised by sharp ridges, gorges, streams, valleys and small plateaus, and more than 200 km of trails covering the whole mountain. It is a popular destination for Athenians and is full of life all year round. Some well-known routes are: Teleferik- Bafi Shelter, Thrakomakedones - Flambouri Shelter, Fili - Yiannoula Rema and the path to Pan’s cave. The 180 km long National path 22 joins Parnassus with Parnitha and passes through the Kirfi mountains, Helicon and Kitheronas.
